The State Emblem was approved by Law No. 616-XII of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated July 2, 1992.
The State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan has the following appearance: a valley surrounded by a wreath on the left side of wheat ears and on the right side of cotton branches with open bolls, over which the sun shines with golden rays. At the top of the emblem is an octagon symbolizing the republic's sovereignty, inside which a crescent and a star are depicted. In the center of the emblem is the Huma bird with its wings spread - a symbol of happiness and freedom. At the bottom of the emblem, on the ribbon of the wreath representing the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the word "Uzbekistan" is inscribed.
In the color version of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan: the Huma bird and rivers are depicted in silver; the sun, ears of wheat, cotton branches and the inscription "Uzbekistan" - in gold; cotton branches and leaves, mountains and valley - in green; cotton in bolls - in white; the ribbon - in three colors reflecting the colors of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the octagon - in blue with gold edging; the crescent and stars - in white.
The rivers flowing between high mountains symbolize the eternity of life, while the wheat ears on the left side of the emblem represent the completeness of our livelihood, and the cotton with open bolls on the right side reflect the purity of our compatriots' hearts and intentions, as well as incomparable wealth.
At the top of the emblem, an octagon is depicted as a symbol of the country's integrity. The crescent inside the octagon represents our achieved independence, and the star signifies that our people have always strived for perfection and chosen the path leading to happiness. These symbols represent the eternity of our national traditions and values, the loftiness of our spirituality, and the strength of our will and faith.
The image of the sun shining over a blooming valley in the state emblem alludes to the sunny nature of our land and the radiant destinations our people aspire to.
The Huma bird with its wings spread wide in the center of the emblem has long been considered a symbol of happiness and statehood, freedom, happiness, courage, and nobility. Hazrat Alisher Navoi depicted the Huma as a bird that brings happiness, prosperity, goodness and grandeur in his epic "Language of the Birds".
The images and inscriptions on the ribbon at the bottom of our state emblem - the golden color of the inscription "Uzbekistan" - indicate that the name of our rich people and state is Uzbekistan.
