A Spiritual-Educational Meeting on the Topic “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” Held
Today, at Kokand State University, a spiritual-educational meeting on the theme “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was held with the participation of Zokirjon Khakimov, chief specialist of the Fergana Regional Department of the Committee on Religious Affairs, and students. The event aimed to raise young people’s awareness, strengthen religious tolerance, and promote the proper use of modern information resources.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zokirjon Khakimov provided participants with detailed information about the negative consequences of ignorance in contemporary society. He emphasized that the main tools to combat ignorance are scientific knowledge, a deep understanding of historical and national values, as well as open and constructive dialogue. He also noted that fostering religious tolerance and civic outlooks can prevent the spread of extremist ideas among the youth.
During the event, the influence of social networks on young people’s thinking was discussed separately. Specialists stressed the importance of improving digital literacy, verifying the reliability of sources, and following personal safety rules to protect against information attacks, misinformation, and radical content. Additionally, methods of strengthening the spiritual well-being of young people through national and universal values were reviewed.
The meeting was held in an interactive format: students expressed their opinions on the topic and asked relevant questions. The officials provided comprehensive answers, offered practical advice, and shared information about educational literature and additional resources. It was observed that students showed particular interest in issues such as information security, criteria for selecting religious sources, and fostering constructive discussions on social networks.
At the conclusion of the meeting, specific practical measures were outlined to nurture an enlightened and critically thinking young generation. The university administration and representatives of the Committee on Religious Affairs expressed their intention to continue organizing such spiritual-educational events in the future and to further cooperate in enhancing students’ knowledge in the social and information spheres.
