International Day of Girls — a Celebration of Recognition and Empowerment

According to the UN General Assembly resolution adopted on December 19, 2011, October 11 was declared as the “International Day of Girls.” This date is celebrated annually around the world to protect the rights of girls, address their social issues, and promote equal opportunities. The day also highlights important topics such as preventing forced marriages and expanding girls’ access to education and healthcare.

In connection with this day, the Women’s Council of Kokand State University organized a cultural and educational event under the theme “Girls — Educators of the Nation.” Students of the Faculties of Foreign Languages and Art and Sports participated with creative performances.

The event featured stage performances, artistic displays, and presentations emphasizing the importance and role of girls in society. At the end, socially active female students were awarded honorary certificates and memorable gifts.

This celebration inspired pride, confidence, and motivation among the girls, encouraging them to be active, spiritually mature, and ambitious in life.
