An Anti-Drug Awareness Session Held at Kokand State University
In accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF–207, dated November 3, 2025, “On comprehensive measures to effectively protect public health and the nation’s gene pool from drug addiction and related crimes,” an awareness session on combating drug abuse and narcotic-related offenses was held at Kokand State University.
The event featured the participation of Major S. Yuldashov, Senior Prevention Inspector of the Kokand City Department of Internal Affairs, and Senior Lieutenant Z. Khayitova, Senior Inspector of the Public Security Division.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the harmful effects of narcotic and psychoactive substances on human health, family life, and the development of society. The key priorities outlined in the Presidential Decree were also discussed, including:
– preventing the spread of psychoactive substances in educational institutions;
– promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth;
– fostering an uncompromising attitude toward offenses and drug abuse;
– organizing systematic and effective preventive measures.
Through real-life examples and analytical discussions, the inspectors emphasized that the fight against drug addiction is not only the duty of law enforcement bodies but also the responsibility of every citizen, especially the younger generation.
Participants also received information about the legal consequences of crimes related to the circulation of narcotic substances, including relevant articles of the Administrative and Criminal Codes.
At the end of the session, students engaged in an interactive discussion under the motto “Healthy thinking — a guarantee of a healthy future.” The prevention inspectors urged students to remain vigilant, take an active civic stance, and unite against social evils and offenses.
