The “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign has begun!

The “16 Days of Activism” campaign has officially started under the theme: “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women.”

In 1999, the UN General Assembly declared November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. In connection with this, our country traditionally conducts the “16 Days of Activism” campaign every year.

At the initiative of the Women’s Advisory Council of Kokand State University, meetings and discussions on the theme “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women” are being organized across all faculties this year as well.

The opening ceremony of the campaign events was held at the “Art and Sports” faculty. Speakers provided detailed information about the legal and regulatory foundations for protecting women from pressure and violence, the systemic reforms implemented in this field in our country, as well as the concept of violence and its various forms.

Additionally, at the “Humanities and Languages” faculty, a roundtable discussion titled “Strength in Unity – No Place for Violence” was organized in cooperation with the Women’s Advisory Council and the non-governmental non-profit organization “Ezgu Niyat.” Participants exchanged views on the importance of adopting a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of violence, the idea that silence contradicts justice, and the need to promote digital culture among students.
