Student Theatre Studio: A Test of Talent and Skill

As part of the “Student Month” events, a Student Theatre Studio competition was held at Kokand State University. A total of seven teams took part in the contest, presenting stage performances based on works of national and contemporary drama to the audience.

The participating teams competed with performances staged on the basis of the plays “Maysara’s Case,” “Gossip in the Neighborhood,” “The Mountain Groom,” “The Brides’ Revolt,” “Bygone Days,” “The Iron Woman,” and “The Duel Under the Plane Tree.”

Throughout the competition, the performances were met with great interest and enthusiastic applause from the audience. Stage works reflecting real-life events, national values, and social issues left a particularly deep impression on the spectators. During some performances, the audience could not hide their laughter and excitement, while certain dramatic scenes brought complete silence to the hall.

According to the decision of the jury: First place was awarded to the “Milan” team of the Faculty of Humanities and Languages; Second place went to the “Parvoz” team of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Economics; Third place was claimed by the “Havokand” team of the Faculty of Humanities and Languages.

In addition, special nominations were announced within the framework of the competition. The “Best Actress” award was presented to Marjona Jabborova for her portrayal of Maysara in the play “Maysara’s Case.” The “Best Actor” award was given to Ramiz Istatkulov for his skillful performance of the role of Rejisiyor in the play “The Brides’ Revolt.”

This competition served to reveal students’ creative potential, increase their interest in theatrical art, and promote meaningful and productive use of their free time.
