The Legacy of Navoi and Babur: Scholarly Interpretation and Modern Approaches
At the Faculty of Humanities and Languages of Kokand State University, a scientific and practical seminar titled
“Traditions of Navoikhonlik and Baburkhonlik: Theoretical and Practical Issues” was held in connection with the birth anniversaries of two great figures of Uzbek classical literature — Alisher Navoi and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.
The event brought together field specialists, faculty members, and talented students, who discussed issues related to studying the rich creative heritage of these great ancestors from a contemporary perspective.
During the seminar, presentations were delivered on teaching Alisher Navoi’s works to the younger generation in an accessible manner and correctly interpreting their profound philosophical meanings; applying innovative and effective methods in studying the legacy of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur; analyzing artistic and scholarly approaches in translating the works of the two great writers into Russian; as well as highlighting Navoi and Babur not only as poets, but also as prominent socio-political figures and their role in the history of statehood.
As emphasized by the participants, such seminars play an important role not only in the exchange of academic knowledge, but also in fostering a sense of national pride and patriotism among students. It was particularly noted that Alisher Navoi’s lyrical heritage and Babur’s “Baburnama” continue to remain an integral part of world civilization today.
