The faculty began its activities on April 4, 1998, by order of the institute rector No. 56-U, separating from the General Technical Faculty as an independent 'Chemistry and Geography' faculty.
On January 24, 2025, after obtaining the status of Kokand State University, the faculty was renamed to 'Faculty of Natural Sciences and Economics'.

Xujayev Vahobjon Umarovich
From April 2, 2025, Khodjayev Vakhobjon Umarovich has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technologies and Natural Sciences at Kokand State University. Khodjayev Vakhobjon Umarovich was born on July 2, 1970, in Uzbekistan District, Fergana Region. Nationality — Uzbek. In 1992, he graduated from the full-time department of Fergana State University with a degree in Chemistry Teaching. He holds a Doctor of Chemical Sciences degree and is a Professor. He speaks Russian. Recipient of the state award “Excellence in Public Education.” He began his professional career in 1987 as a student of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pedagogy at Fergana State University. From 1992 to 1993, he worked as a trainee researcher at the Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, and from 1993 to 1996, as a postgraduate student at the same institute. In 1996–1997, he was a lecturer at Kokand State Pedagogical Institute, and in 1997–1998, Head of the Department of Chemistry. From 1998 to 2003, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geography, from 2003 to 2006 — Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, from 2006 to 2013 — Head of the Department of Chemistry, and from 2013 to 2014 — Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography at Kokand State Pedagogical Institute. From 2014 to 2020, he was Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, from 2020 to 2021 — Professor at the Department of Chemistry, from 2021 to 2024 — Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and from 2024 to 2025 — Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. Since April 2025, he has been serving as Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technologies and Natural Sciences at Kokand State University.

By decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the faculty was renamed to 'Natural Sciences and Geography'.

From March, the faculty continued its activities under the name 'Faculty of Natural Sciences'.
