Riga Forum: Kokand State University Expands International Cooperation
Today, in the Latvian capital Riga, the first educational forum between Uzbekistan and Latvia was held. The event was attended by representatives of the higher education ministries of both countries, as well as leaders of around 50 leading higher education institutions.
At the forum, the Rector of Kokand State University, Professor Dilnoza Khodjaeva, delivered a speech focusing on advancing cooperation between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Latvia to a new level, as well as creating broad opportunities for educating knowledgeable, proactive, and modern-thinking youth. The university’s Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Nigora Kodirova, also participated in the forum.
During the event, a memorandum was signed between one of Latvia’s prestigious universities — Ventspils University of Applied Sciences — and Kokand State University, aimed at implementing professional development programs, academic exchange programs for faculty and students, and involving foreign professors in the educational process.
Following negotiations with Ventspils University of Applied Sciences Rector Andris Vaivads, prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the universities in the field of education were also outlined.
